  • I heard about something today that really irks me beyond a doubt. If you are in ministry, and you are talking down another ministry because you feel as if it's "creepy", then there's a problem. There's a problem with you and there's a problem with your ministry. If there is a ministry that is functioning in a way that is harmful or against the will of God then yes, they deserve to be called out for what they are doing. The issue comes in when there is just a similar ministry that you prefer over the other so you speak negatively of the first ministry.

Here's the deal, I was going to publish this to facebook with the intention of this person seeing it, but instead I emailed him personally. If this does no good, I'm going to shut up in Jesus name.

I understand you picked your college for a reason but for the love of Jesus, that doesn't mean that the others are "creepy". Just because it works in a different way then what you're used to gives you absolutely no reason to slam it and tell kids not to go there. You are in turn crippling a ministry. I wouldn't say hey, I go volunteer at this homeless shelter, so the other one across the city sucks and even though it has an entirely separate population it serves, I would rather see you support the baseball stadium then the homeless shelter...I mean come on. If the choice is Christian college A or secular school B, why are you going to encourage kids to go to the secular school when there's a good chance they would want to go into ministry after going to Christian college A.

Here's the other thing too, if you are a minister on staff at a church that supports a particular ministry, there's a good chance that one or more of your elders really believes in that ministry, and I know for a fact in this case, it's more then one. Don't tick them off, they can fire you.

I hate it when people run their big fat mouth with no intention of it benefitting anyone but themselves....Shut up in Jesus name some time for crying out loud.
